Majority of Residents Support Expansion of London Heathrow Airport

The decision of constructing a third runway at Heathrow Airport is still pending and more than half residents in constituencies and close to London support the expansion of the airport. The market research company conduct interviews from the local residents of 12 constituencies (includes Spelthorne, Brentford and Isleworth, Feltham and Heston, Windsor, Uxbridge and South Ruislip, Slough, Hayes and Harlington, Beaconsfield, Ealing North, Ealing Southall, Richmond Park and Twickenham) out of which 51% supported the expansion, 35% oppose it, 59% feel positive about the expansion and 8% feel negative.

This poll shows that most of the unemployed communities really want the expansion of Heathrow Airport as well as they know that the authorities of the airport meet the quality rules very easily. The expansion of the airport is no longer a choice of both environment and economy because, their plans will benefit both.

The External Affair Head of Heathrow Airport said:
“This polling shows that a majority of our neighbors recognize that a third runway will create tens of thousands of local jobs, ending youth unemployment in the communities closest to the airport as well as reducing noise impacts and meeting air quality rules. Heathrow’s new expansion plan and the fact it is supported by a majority of people living near the airport gives the Prime Minister the confidence to make the right choice for a stronger British economy and approve Heathrow expansion.”

This interview shows that the local residents understand the sense of building third runway which will bring job opportunities for thousands of them. This is a first local poll conducted since Heathrow Airport announced.

The expansion of London Heathrow Airport is still pending and the marketers conducted a research from the local residents of 12 constituencies support the expansion of the airport. This will bring thousands of job opportunities for the unemployed residents.
