We are Ready for Expansion – Chief Executive Heathrow
Chief executive of Heathrow, John Holland-Kaye, said that the airport is ready for a third runway, as the number of passengers continues to grow every year. An increase of 2.2% in the number of passengers was recorded at Heathrow, as a total of 75 million passengers travelled through this airport.
This record number of passengers also helped in 2.7% increase in total revenue. The revenue reached to the mark of £2.7 billion in the year 2015.
Chief executive, John Holland-Kaye, said: “I’m confident that this summer the government will agree with its Airports Commission that expanding Heathrow is the only way to secure Britain’s long-term economic future and meet environmental demands. We stand ready to deliver.”
He added: “It’s been an excellent year for Heathrow. As we approach our 70th anniversary, our colleagues are delivering the best service we’ve ever achieved to a record number of passengers. We’re also making strong progress on our environmental commitments by reducing emissions and noise, and another set of robust financial results underpins our plans to make Heathrow the most sustainable hub airport and the UK the best connected country in the world.”
The increase in the number of passengers flying through the airport will really favour it in the expansion decision. The airport boss is hopeful that the decision will be made in Heathrow’s favour.
